Two Brothers, from Philadelphia, bring Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks to Rocktown - The Story


It took ten years of convincing by Steven Urglavitch, who, for years felt unfulfilled as a corporate healthcare leader, to persuade younger brother, Tommy Urglavitch, to leave a successful career in the Philadelphia region's bar-restaurant scene to embark on the URGIE's journey in the Shenandoah Valley.  

The mission was clear - to build a successful Authentic Philly Cheesesteak business by serving the highest-quality Philadelphia-style cheesesteaks with outstanding customer service. The Philly-Attitude is thrown in for authenticity - and good fun.

Our Pledge: URGIE’s Cheesesteaks are made from 100% Certified Angus Beef aged a minimum of 21 days and sliced paper thin. Amoroso Rolls, shipped directly from Philadelphia, PA, are used to ensure authenticity. URGIE’s also uses legendary Costanzo's rolls shipped from Buffalo, NY. URGIE’s Cheesesteaks is committed to sourcing local products when available.  

Cheez Whiz - The Story


One of Urgie's three cheese options - Cheez Whiz has been a staple on Philly Cheesesteaks for as long as we can remember. Often copied, yet never duplicated, it's the Whiz in the "Whiz Wit" that makes Philly Cheesesteaks world famous.
